Adelaide caffeine lovers have reason to celebrate thanks to Clarence Park coffee fanatics Chris Hoskin and Paolo Scidone. The owners of popular businesses Café Carnevale and The Organic Pod Guys are reinventing the local scene with the world’s first organic, single-origin recyclable coffee pod. “Thepod marketishuge, andfor us it was important to offer a product that was organic and recyclable, but didn’t compromise on quality,” says Paolo. The dynamic duo, who pride themselves on old fashioned service, hand deliver their four single-origin cof fee varieties from Mexico, East Timor, Indonesia and Ethiopia to customers. “ We’re passionate about giving people something different. South Australia has a strong coffee culture. It’s been awesome to see the reaction,” says Paolo. The Organic Pod Guys, who sell their Nepresso machine compatible pods online, also run pop-up coffee houses, with a focus on providing an interactive tasting experience. “Our pop-up on King William Road went great guns, and we’re in talks to do another this year,” says Paolo. UNLEYLIFE 09 The City of Unley ’s inaugural Double Shot Festival in March also provided an oppor tunity for the duo to showcase their of ferings alongside of the best coffee minds in the State. “ T he festival is a real testament to the great coffee on offer and it’s an oppor tunity for people to share their knowledge, contacts and experiences in a special environment .” The festival was such a memorable experience, that both Chris and Paolo will return to an expanded format festival on Sunday 22 February 2015 as par t of Adelaide Fringe. “It’s an exciting time for both business and coffee in South Australia, and we’re inspired by the future,” says Paolo.
