10 L'ATELIER GOURMAND Brunching on a weekend - one of life’s simple pleasures! Enter L'Atelier Gourmand - it's Saturday morning, so brunch is an absolute MUST. Quietly located on a side street off Goodwood Road (opposite the Capri Theatre), the cosy French inspired cafe has a lovely relaxed vibe. With indoor and outdoor seating, I snagged a bench-top table with a nice view of the street. WOW....with such an alluring menu, I certainly felt spoilt for choice. Offering breakfast , lunch and dinner sections on the menu, there was a vast array of enticing options. Vegetarian Delight - Quinoa, roasted but ternut pumpkin, SA mushrooms, pine nut s and a poached egg, served with toast. Completely and utterly orgasmic. Can we please stop for a second and praise how amazingly versatile quinoa is - crunchy, flavoursome textures - the addictive fusion of quinoa, mushrooms, pumpkin and pine nut s worked in per fect harmony. Vegetarian or not , this dish is a MUST TRY. L’Atelier Gourmand is an absolute hidden gem - great food, lovely atmosphere and hospitable staff, this is one cafe that is sure to impress! But you can still have stylish, colour ful gardens that cope well in our hot climates. There is a wide variety of native plants available. You’ll not only enjoy the low maintenance, but your garden will require less water, minimal fertilisers, provide habitat for local fauna and can provide colour all year round. For more information visit unley.sa.gov.au/nativeplants Sweet Apple-berry (Billardiera cymosa) Paper Flower (Thomasia petalocalyx) We asked you to tell us how you like your coffee... “I Love my coffee, As hot as hell As dark as night As sweet as love.” Gillian, Kings Park “I’m the mother of a toddler so I like my coffee made in a hurry with whatever is closest and reheated 3 to 5 times before leaving it mostly undrunk in a strange place like the toilet or the garage. Oh hang on, that's not how I LIKE my coffee, that's just how it works out... I LIKE my coffee fresh, milky and smooth-roasted at a perfectly drinkable temperature while I lay on the couch watching Downton Abbey.” Kirstie, Unley Gillian and Kirstie have both scored themselves a box of each coffee pod type from the Organic Pod Guys. Thank you to ever yone else who entered. We hope to run more fun competitions like this one in the near future.
