The beautifully styled room of statement furniture pieces crafted from quality wood and opulent fabrics is attracting many looking for a one off piece to finish their lounge room. Following a considerable time travelling the world with their seven-year-old son, store owners James and Kylie Breeze realised there was a market in Australia for handcrafted furniture, lighting and art. And after considering other locations like Sydney and Melbourne, the couple chose King William Road where James’s father Jim now manages the showroom. Jim says he’s had a warm welcome from locals and other traders and says it’s a lovely community in which to run a business. “ We’ve had lots of local business owners and employees drop in to welcome us. We’re attracting a good mix of regular King William Road customers and passing foot traffic from the local cafes and restaurants,” he says. King William Road Traders Association Chairman, David Cant says The Armchair Affair will be a welcome addition to the road. “ T hey offer an eclectic mix of furniture and decorator items that we believe will appeal to King William Road customers,” says David. New stock arrives every eight weeks and the collection can be viewed on their website TheArmchairAffair.com or in-store at 132 King William Road, Hyde Park. Jim Breeze.
