UNLEYLIFE 11 #peopleofunley One story at a time. Richard Flavel, Unley Council employee for 45 years. “I drive the street sweepers and respond to issues on the streets as they arise. My grandfather worked at the Council and helped me get this job when I was 21. I came down for an interview on Saturday and started on Monday”. Tony Altamura, Unley Council employee for 30 years. “I just try to do the right thing and work hard. I’ve worked in lots of different roles over the years. You have to concentrate sweeping the narrow streets in Unley”. Koki Kotkowicz, Unley Council employee for 40 years. “First as a garbo, then drainage, and now I’m in the sign shop. We coordinate signage for the Tour Down Under, Royal Show, and little street parties too. I just like the culture here. You get respect from people. I know too many people!”.
