UNLEYLIFE 17 UNLEYLIFE 17 Something special happens when a community comes together. Friends are made, connections get stronger and businesses help each other grow. That’s exactly what is happening on Goodwood Road. Behind Maises Books and the Kazbah Café at 143 Goodwood Road, the rear car park comes alive on the second and four th Sunday of every month. Described by some as a ‘garage sale on steroids’, this relatively new bric-a -brac market was created to bring the community together in a safe and suppor tive environment. Market founders, Rochelle of Kazbah Café and Anne of Maises Books, both wanted to do something positive for the local people and businesses. “ We wanted to attract the community back to Goodwood,” says Rochelle. “ We love meeting the locals, there are so many lovely people in the area,” says Anne. With donations and support already coming from locals such as the Capri Theatre and OPTION [a] Creative Brand Signage, this market is sure to grow, especially as the weather warms up! The market itself has a variety of stalls, showcasing everything from clothes, jewellery, plants, dog treats, sweets and cider, to even having its very own knife doctor! Not to mention fresh produce, a good old fashion sausage sizzle and face painting for the kids. To get involved and have your stall at the market, or to simply find out more about the upcoming Bric-A-Brac events in Unley, head on over to the Facebook page at facebook.com/ Goodwood-Bric-A-Brac-Produce-Market Bric-A-Brac and produce “ We love meeting the locals, there are so many lovely people in the area.” Anne, Maises Books.
