06 Unley is seeing a rise in the number of home-based businesses. And to help small business operators thrive and net work, the Council has teamed up with co-working enterprise Little City to form Little City Unley. Little City Unley is located in one of the Council-owned cottages on Edmund Avenue in Unley, and features two separate office spaces, one meeting room and 12 desks in an open plan set ting. Little City Managing Director Shaun Lyon says he hopes the space will be a success. “Unley has long been on our radar as a great community to expand Little City into,” Mr Lyon says. “ T he City of Unley has been incredibly proactive in making this possible.” Unley Council Coordinator Business and Economic Development Akarra Klinberg says the Council is committed to working with home-based businesses. “ T he number of home-based business in Unley are on the rise,” Ms Klinberg says. “ T here are a vast variety of home-based businesses operating, from marketing and social media specialists to food and catering to trades people with a home- based office. We are committed to supporting our home-based businesses and local entrepreneurs and offer a variety of services.” “ T hese include the Unley Business Breakfast held every two months, cost ef fective business suppor t through the Eastside Business Enterprise Centre, and access to a dedicated Business and Economic Development Coordinator.” “ We also recognise the benefits that these types of businesses bring to our City. They bring ex tra people into our community each day, often meeting clients in our local cafes.
